Installation: Change
The Kennedy Heights Arts Center is currently hosting an exhibition called Change.
Before this was able to be installed, there was much needed renovation on the space. I was tasked with filling in the old holes from previous installations with spackle and then sand. I then repainted the gallery rooms and hallways for a fresh look. I utilized my skills from the previous prep and installation for Mother Earth. I maintained a clean and organized space to minimize mess with the paint and other tools.
After I had completed painting and renovating the area, installation began. There were over 50 works of art that needed to be installed. I followed under the wing of my boss and talked through the best way to use the environment so these works can thrive. Following this step, I installed the art. I have learned the math skills needed to ensure the artwork looks cohesive with one another and align at the same center point.
All the hard work paid off and we were able to install a beautiful show and create a wonderful experience for the community.
